Reliquary theca with relics of Servite Blessed Giacomo Filippo Bertoni O.S.M.

Oval glass-fronted white-metal pendant reliquary theca housing a precious second-class relic of Blessed Giacomo Filippo Bertoni.  A substantial cloth relic is affixed to a ground of red-colored silk and identified in Latin on a manuscript cedula label as B. Jac. Phil. Ber. (Blessed Giacomo Filippo Bertoni). On the back, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of Fr. Michele Seri-Molini (†1888), Bishop of Osimo e Cingoli, Italy (1871–1888).

Blessed Giacomo Filippo Bertoni (1454 - 25 May 1483) was an Italian Roman Catholic priest and a professed member of the Servite Order. Bertoni assumed the religious name of "Giacomo Filippo" upon being admitted to the Servites and he became the procurator of the convent he lived in from his appointment until his death. The approval of the late priest's "cultus" (or popular devotion) on 22 July 1761 acted as Pope Clement XIII's conferral of beatification upon the late priest while the town of Faenza - where Bertoni hailed from - appointed him as its patron in 1762. His feast day is commemorated on 25 May and 30 May (by the Servites).
