Saint Joseph Kang M.T.O.P. (†1861) was a martyr of Vietnam. A Dominican catechist, he worked alongside St. Jerome Hermosilla and tried to help him escape from prison. He was arrested, flogged and tortured before being executed in 1861 by Emperor Tu Duc. Pope John Paul II canonized him in 1988, as part of the group of 117 Vietnamese martyrs. His feast day is celebrated on November 6th.
Saint Stephen Nguyen Van Vinh M.T.O.P. (†1839) was a martyr of Vietnam. Layman farmer in the apostolic vicariate of East Tonkin he converted to Catholicism and became a Dominican tertiary. He was imprisoned, tortured and executed for his faith in the persecutions of emperor Minh Mang. Pope John Paul II canonized him in 1988, as part of the group of 117 Vietnamese martyrs. His feast day is celebrated on November 24th.
Saint Thomas De M.T.O.P. (†1839)was a martyr of Vietnam. A native of Vietnam, he entered the Dominicans as a tertiary and aided the Catholic cause in Vietnam until his arrest by authorities. He was tortured and beheaded. Pope John Paul II canonized him in 1988, as part of the group of 117 Vietnamese martyrs. His feast day is celebrated on May 31st.
