1988 Documented medal & reliquary theca with relics of a Chilean Blessed Laura Vicuña, Patron of Abuse victims

Round yellow-metal glass-fronted reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus  (of the bone) relic of the Blessed Laura Vicuña. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as Beata Laura Vicuña / ex ossibus (of the bone of the Blessed Laura Vicuña). On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Society of Saint Francis de Sales (better known as the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB)). The relic is accompanied by an original matching authentics document issued and sealed by the Postulator General of the Order on 8 September 1988 (only 5 days after the day of the beatification) and comes in the original case of the issue containing a bronze double-sided medal with a portrait of the Blessed.

Blessed Laura Vicuña Pino (1891 – 1904) was a Chilean child who was beatified by the Roman Catholic Church. She is the patron of abuse victims, having herself experienced physical abuse. One of her famous sayings is "Suffer silently and Smile always." The Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco started Laura's canonization process in the 1950s and on September 3, 1988, saw Laura's beatification by Pope John Paul II. Her feastday is celebrated on January 22.
