A fine 19th-century Italian Neo-Renaissance three-panel triptych altarpiece. The interior with the Virgin and Child within an arched band of angels and flanked by twisted giltwood columns, with Saints Peter and Paul at right and left, when closed St. John the Baptist and Evangelist Saint are visible. The altarpiece is set with a finely carved giltwood surmount and raised on a stepped foot.
Condition: Good-Fair. There are some losses to the surmount at the upper right and with small cracks to giltwood or gilded gesso throughout. The stepped base has sustained extensive losses to surface.
