New Arrival
Reliquary theca with relic of St. Felix of Valois, Co-Founder of the Trinitarians Order

Oval glass-fronted brass pendant reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus (of the bone) relic of Saint Felix of Valois. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground surrounded by gilt paperolle ornamentation and identified in Latin on a manuscript cedula label as S. Fel P.V. (Saint Felix, Presbyter of Valois). On the back, the theca is secured with a perfectly preserved seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint with a coat of arms of Fr. Antonio Cantoni (†1781), Bishop of Faenza, Italy (1742–1767) and Archbishop of Ravenna, Italy (1767–1781).

Saint Felix of Valois (†1212), born to French nobility in Valois, embraced a hermit's life in Galie forest. With Saint John of Matha, he co-founded the Trinitarian Order in 1198 to ransom Christian captives. As a priest, he lived with profound austerity, dedicating himself to prayer and charity. Canonized in 1262, his miracles aided the poor. Venerated as a confessor, his legacy endures in the Trinitarian mission. His feast day is November 20.
