Documented theca with the first class ex precordi relic of Saint Vincent de Paul

Mid 19th century oval silver washed glass-fronted reliquary theca, containing ex precordi (of the heart) first class relic of Saint Vincent de Paul. The relic is affixed to a red silk background and is titled on a fancy cut paper cedula as S. Vincemtii / a Paulo C. Back of the theca is secured by a perfecty preserved seal of red Spanish wax. The original autentics document is issued and signed by Fr. Giuseppe Maria Castellani, O.E.S.A. († 1854), Titular Bishop of Porphyreon and dated 1841.

Saint Vincent de Paul († 1660) was a French Roman Catholic priest who dedicated himself to serving the poor. He is a Holy Patron of charities; horses; hospitals; leprosy; lost articles; Madagascar; prisoners; Richmond, Virginia; spiritual help; Saint Vincent de Paul Societies; Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory; Vincentian Service Corps; and volunteers.
