Blessed Giuseppe Ambrosoli M.C.C.I. (†1987) was an Italian Catholic priest and professed member of the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus. A philanthropist and educator, he served as a doctor in Uganda, Africa. Ambrosoli studied before World War II when he once risked his life to smuggle Jewish people into Switzerland before returning home to finish his studies in medicine before commencing his ecclesial studies. He joined the Comboni missionaries and was sent to Uganda, where he became known as the "saint doctor" for his loving and compassionate treatment of all the ill people to whom he dedicated himself. He died on 27 March 1987 at the Comboni Mission in Lira after he had been diagnosed with kidney disease. His cause for canonization opened in Uganda in 1999 when he became titled as a Servant of God. He was beatified by Archbishop Luigi Bianco on 20 November 2022 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish Church in Kalongo, Uganda.
