1992 Documented reliquary theca with relics of the Spanish Civil War Claretian Martyrs of Barbastro

Round glass-fronted yellow-metal reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus  (of the bone) relics of Claretian Martyrs of Barbastro. The substantial relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on typeset cedula label as Ex oss. MM. Btri (of the bones of Martyrs of Barbastro).  On the back, under the protective cap, the theca is secured by a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Postulator General of the Congregation of Missionary Sons of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary (better known as the Claretians). The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued by the Order on October 26, 1992, on the very next day after their canonization.

The Claretian Martyrs of Barbastro are fifty-one people, mostly young students of the local Claretian seminary in Spain, tortured and killed by anarchist militiamen loyal to the republican government, led by the Marxist-inspired Popular Front. The massacre took place in 1936, at the start of the Spanish Civil War, in the Aragonese city of Barbastro, Spain. They were beatified by Pope John Paul II on October 25, 1992.
