Freestanding gilt brass kiss-reliquary decorated by silver filigree and housing a silver theca with precious first-class ex cineribus (from the bodily ashes) relic of Saint Francis of Assisi. The relic is affixed to a red silk background and identified in Latin on a manuscript cedula label asS. Francisci Ass. C. (Saint Francis of Assisi, Confessor). On the back, the theca is secured with a perfectly-preserved seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of CardinalClementeMicara (†), Vicar General of Rome (1951-1963) and Pro-Prefect of the Congregation of Sacred Rites responsible for Canonization of Saints (1953-1963). The relic is accompanied by an original matching authentics document issued and signed by Monsignor Micara in 1953.
