Crystal-fronted silver reliquary theca housing ex ossibus (of the bone) relic of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux. The relic is identified on a paper cedula as S. Bernardi Abb. and secured by perfectly preserved seal of red Spanish wax with coat of arms of Luigi Fransoni († 1862) Archbishop of Turin (1832-1862).
Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, O.Cist († 1153) was a French abbot and the primary reformer for the Cistercian order. He is a patron of Cistercians, Burgundy, beekeepers, candlemakers, Gibraltar, Algeciras, Queens' College, Cambridge, Speyer Cathedral, Knights Templar.
