Saint Pudentiana († c. 160), a Roman virgin and martyr, was a devoted early Christian known for her piety and charity. Traditionally considered the daughter of Saint Pudens and sister of Saint Praxedes, she dedicated her life to serving the poor and burying Christian martyrs during times of persecution. Her home in Rome was transformed into a church, now the Basilica of Santa Pudenziana, one of the oldest in the city. Venerated for her faith and selflessness, she is celebrated as a virgin martyr. Her feast day is May 19, and her legacy endures in Rome’s early Christian history.
