2003 Documented reliquary with relic of Spanish Blessed Pascual Fortuño Almela, Martyr of Valencia

Round glass-fronted white-metal reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus  (of the bone) relic of Blessed Paschal Fortuño Almela. A sizable relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as Ex Ossibus BTO. Pascual Fortuno (of the ossibus Blessed Paschal Fortuño Almela).  On the back, under the protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Order of the Friars Minor. The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued and signed in May 17, 2003 by the Spanish Postulator General of the Friars Minors responsible for the cause of beatification and canonization.

Blessed Paschal Fortuño Almela († 1936) was ordained a Franciscan priest in 1913. Famed as a teacher, he spent 5 years in Argentina before returning home to an apostolic life of preaching and devotion to the Eucharist. Caught up in the violence of the Spanish Civil War, he was assassinated while traveling on the road. He is venerated as one of 233 Martyrs of Spain beatified as the entire group by Pope John Paul II on 11 March 2001.
