Saint Clelia Barbieri (†1870) was an Italian Roman Catholic and the founder of the Little Sisters of the Mother of Sorrows regarded as the youngest founder of a religious congregation in the history of the Catholic church. Barbieri declined the married life in her adolescence – even when pressured – in favor of leading a life dedicated to the needs of others; she served as an educator for a while and joined a religious movement that made her a notable figure in her village. Barbieri's canonization cause started on 15 March 1930 when she was made a Servant of God, progressed with her beatification on 27 October 1968, and culminated with her canonization on 9 April 1989 under Pope John Paul II.

Round gilt filigree silver glass-fronted reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus (of the bone) relic of Saint Clelia Barbieri.The relic is affixed to a gold silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as S. Cleliae Barbieri // Virginis (Saint Clelia Barbieri, Virgin). On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured by a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of Antonio Ricciardi, O.F.M. Conv., General Postulator of Barbieri's Cause for Canonization. The reliquary is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued by Fr. Ricciardi on the 9th of April 1989 (on the very day of her canonization).
