1864 Vatican documented reliquary theca with relic of St. Vincent Ferrer, Patron of builders & fishermen

Oval glass-fronted silvered brass pendant reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus (of the bone) relic of one of Saint Vincent Ferrer.  The relic is affixed to a red silk ground surrounded by gilt silver wire ornamentation and identified in Latin on a manuscript cedula label as S. Vinc a Ferr.(Saint Vincent Ferrer).  On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of Monsignor Costantino Patrizi Naro (†1876), Dean of the College of Cardinals and the Vicar General of the Roman Curia. The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued and sealed by the order of Cardinal Naro in 1864.

Saint Vincent Ferrer, O.P., (†1419) was a Valencian Dominican friar, who gained acclaim as a missionary and a logician who was canonized by Pope Calixtus III in 1455. His feast day is celebrated on 5 April. He is a holy patron of builders, construction workers, plumbers, fishermen, and orphanages.
