1910 Documented reliquary theca with relics of St. Anthony of Padua & St. Vincent Ferrer

Oval glass-fronted silver pendant reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus (of the bone) relic of Saint Anthony of Padua and the second-class ex indusia (of the undergarments) of Saint Vincent Ferrer.  The relics are affixed to the blue and silver thread silk ground surrounded by gilt silver wire ornamentation and identified in Latin on typeset cedulae labels as S. Antinii Pat.c. // S. Vincentii Fer. C. (Saint Anthony of Padua Confessor // Saint Vincent Ferrer, Confessor).  On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of Archbishop St. Guido Maria Conforti (†1931), Bishop of Parma, Italy (1907-1931), who himself was canonized as a Saint in 2011 by Pope John Paul II on account of his life of heroic virtue. The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued and sealed by the order of Monsignor Conforti in 1910.

Saint Anthony of Padua († 1231), also known as Anthony of Lisbon, was a Portuguese Catholic priest and friar of the Franciscan Order. Noted by his contemporaries for his powerful preaching, expert knowledge of scripture, and undying love and devotion to the poor and the sick, he was one of the most-quickly canonized saints in church history. He was canonized in 1232 by Pope Gregory IX and was proclaimed a Doctor of the Church in 1946. He is the patron saint of Lisbon, lost items, lost people, lost souls, American Indians; amputees; animals; Brazil; elderly people; faith in the Blessed Sacrament; fishermen; harvests; horses; lower animals; mail; mariners; oppressed people; poor people; Portugal; pregnant women; shipwrecks; starvation; sterility; swineherds; travel hostesses; and travelers. His feast day is celebrated on June 13.

Saint Vincent Ferrer, O.P., (†1419) was a Valencian Dominican friar, who gained acclaim as a missionary and a logician canonized by Pope Calixtus III in 1455. He is a holy patron of builders, construction workers, plumbers, fishermen, and orphanages. His feast day is celebrated on 5 April.
