1992 Documented theca with relic of St. Salvador of Horta, Miracleworker of Catalonia

Round yellow-metal glass-fronted reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus (of the bone) relic of Saint Salvador of Horta. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as S. Salvat. ab Horta C. (Saint Salvador of Horta, Confessor). On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Order of Friars Minor. The reliquary is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued by the Postulator General of the Order in 1992.

Saint Salvador of Horta O.F.M. (Catalan: Salvador d'Horta; Spanish: Salvador de Horta; Italian: Salvatore da Horta) (†1567) was a Spanish Franciscan lay brother from the region of Catalonia in Spain, who was celebrated as a miracle worker during his lifetime. While residing in Barcelona, in 1560 he was denounced to the Spanish Inquisition for the many miracles attributed to his intercession. The veneration of Salvador spread throughout his native Catalunya and also in Calabria, long under Spanish rule. He was canonized in 1938 by Pope Pius XI and his Feast Day is commemorated on 18 March.
