1993 Documented theca with relic of St. Simón de Rojas, Apostle of the Ave Maria

Round yellow-metal glass-fronted reliquary theca housing the first-class ex corpore (of the body) relic of Saint Simón de Rojas. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a manuscript cedula label as S. Simonis de Roxas (Saint Simón de Rojas). On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Order of the Most Holy Trinity. The reliquary is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued by the Postulator General of the Order in 1993.

Saint Simón de Rojas (†1624) was a Spanish priest of the Trinitarian Order known as the "Apostle of the Ave Maria" for his devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. A person of many abilities, Rojas was a theologian, a spiritual writer, and a friend and benefactor of the poor. Rojas was beatified by Pope Clement XIII in 1766. On 3 July 1988, just before the close of the Marian Year, he was canonized by Pope John Paul II. His Feast Day is commemorated on 28 September.
