1991 Documented reliquary theca with relic of the Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati T.O.S.D., the Man of the 8 Beatitudes

Round yellow-metal glass-fronted reliquary theca housing ex cassa relic of the Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati T.O.S.D. The relic is affixed to a blue silk ground decorated by silver wire and identified in Latin on a manuscript cedula label as B. Pier G. Frass. (Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati).  On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Dominican Order. The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued and sealed in 1990 by the Postulator General of the Order responsible for the Causes of Canonization. 

Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati T.O.S.D. (†1925) was an Italian Catholic activist and a member of the Third Order of Saint Dominic who was dedicated to Catholic social justice issues and joined several charitable organizations to better aid the poor and less fortunate living in his hometown of Turin; he put his own pious beliefs into practice to cater to their needs and was best known for his devotion and amiable character. His charitable outreach towards others knew no bounds for he identified with and aided the poor and ill from his childhood. Pope John Paul II beatified Frassati in May 1990 and dubbed him the "Man of the Eight Beatitudes."
