1979 Documented reliquary theca with relic of St. Fidelis of Sigmaringen, OFMCap, Martyr

Round glass-fronted white-metal reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus  (of the bone) relic of St. Fidelis of Sigmaringen, OFMCap.  Therelic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as S. Fidel. Sigm. (St. Fidelis of Sigmaringen).  On the back, under the protective cap, the theca is secured by a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Postulator General of The Order of Friars Minor Capuchin. The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued by the Order on 1 September 1979.

Saint Fidelis of Sigmaringen, OFMCap (†1622) was a Capuchin friar who was involved in the Catholic Counter-Reformation, and was martyred by the Calvinist rebels at Seewis im Prättigau, now part of Switzerland. Fidelis was canonized in 1746 and his Feast is commemorated on 24 April.
