Saint Gerolamo Emiliani (†1537), was an Italian humanitarian, founder of the Somaschi Fathers. He was canonized in 1767 and is the patron saint of orphans and abandoned children. His Feast day is celebrated on 8 February.
Round white-metal glass-fronted reliquary theca housing a first-class ex ossibus (of the bone) relic of the Saint Gerolamo Emiliani. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on typeset cedula label as Ossa S. Gerolamo E. (of the bone of Saint Gerolamo Emiliani). On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Postulator General of the Somascan Fathers, officially known as the Clerics Regular of Somasca.
