Blessed Nicephorus of Jesus and Mary (Nicéforo of Jesus and Mary), was a Catholic priest Passionist venerated as a blessed and a martyr in the Catholic Church. he was shot in 1936 in times of religious persecution that broke out in Spain, during the civil war. After the war, between April and May 1939, His remains were located and in 1942, exhumed and taken to Daimiel, together with that of his fellow martyrs, and introduced into the crypt of the Passionist church. Nicéforo was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1989, along with 25 other Passionist martyrs of the twentieth century Spain, at the ceremony held in the Plaza de San Pedro in the City of the Vatican. His feast is celebrated on November 6 and his relics are venerated in the Sanctuary of Cristo de la Luz in Daimiel, Ciudad Real.
1990 Documented reliquary theca with relics of the Passionist Blessed Nicephorus & 25 Martyrs of the Spanish Civil War
Round yellow-metal glass-fronted reliquary theca housing first-class ex ossibus (of the bone) relics of the Blessed Nicephorus of Jesus and Mary & 25 Martyrs of Spain. The relics are affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on typeset cedula label as BB. Mártires OH en España (the Blessed Martyrs of Spain). On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Congregation of the Passion of Jesus Christ, (better known as the Passionists). The relic is accompanied by an original matching authentics document issued and sealed in 1990 by the Postulator General of the Order.
