Blessed Nicephorus of Jesus and Mary (Nicéforo of Jesus and Mary), was a Catholic priest Passionist venerated as a blessed and a martyr in the Catholic Church. he was shot in 1936 in times of religious persecution that broke out in Spain, during the civil war. After the war, between April and May 1939, His remains were located and in 1942, exhumed and taken to Daimiel, together with that of his fellow martyrs, and introduced into the crypt of the Passionist church. Nicéforo was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1989, along with 25 other Passionist martyrs of the twentieth century Spain, at the ceremony held in the Plaza de San Pedro in the City of the Vatican. His feast is celebrated on November 6 and his relics are venerated in the Sanctuary of Cristo de la Luz in Daimiel, Ciudad Real.
