Oval lens glass-fronted brass theca housing the first-class ex ossibus (from the bone) relic of Saint Vincent Ferrer. The relic is affixed to a silk background surrounded by gilt paperolle ornamentation and identified on a manuscript cedula label as S. Vinc. Fer. C. (Saint Vincent Ferrer, Confessor) On the back, the theca is secured by a seal of red Spanish wax with an imprint of a coat of arms of Cardinal Francesco Burghesi (†1759), Titular Bishop of the Basilica Santa Maria de Traveste.
Saint Vincent Ferrer, O.P., (†1419) was a Valencian Dominican friar, who gained acclaim as a missionary and a logician who was canonized by Pope Calixtus III in 1455. His feast day is celebrated on 5 April. He is a holy patron of builders, construction workers, plumbers, fishermen, and orphanages.
