1964 Documented reliquary theca with relic of St. Luigi Guanella

Round glass-fronted white-metal reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus  (of the bone) pre-canonization relic of Saint Luigi Guanella. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a manuscript cedula label as Ex Ossibus // B. A. Guanella (Of the bone of Blessed Luigi Guanella).  On the back, under the protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Servants of Charity. The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued and signed on October 25,  1964 (only two days after his beatification) by the Postulator General of the Order responsible for the cause of beatification and canonization.

Saint Luigi Guanella (†1915) was an Italian Roman Catholic priest and the founder of several religious institutes: the Daughters of Saint Mary of Providence (1890) and the Servants of Charity (1908) alongside his friends David Albertario and Giuseppe Toniolo. Guanella also founded the Pious Union of Saint Joseph(1914) with his supporter and first member, Pope Pius X. These religious communities focused on the relief of the poor throughout the world. The Servants of Charity motto reads "In Omnibus Charitas" ("In all things Love"), which became the cornerstone of his own life. He received beatification on 25 October 1964 from Pope Paul VI and was canonized on 23 October 2011 by Pope Benedict XVI.
