Saint Theopiste (Tatyana), (†2nd century AD) — Wife of St. Eustathius (Placidus), a Roman general who converted to Christianity after a miraculous vision of Christ in a stag’s antlers. Together with their two sons, Agapius and Theopistus, Theopiste embraced the Christian faith and was baptized. Following their conversion, the family endured severe trials, including exile, poverty, and separation. Theopiste was captured by a sea captain but preserved her purity through unwavering faith and prayer. After years of hardship, the family was miraculously reunited and restored to honor. However, under Emperor Hadrian, they were ordered to renounce their faith and sacrifice to pagan gods. Refusing to apostatize, Theopiste, alongside her husband and sons, was martyred by being placed in a heated bronze bull. She is venerated as a model of faith, perseverance, and maternal devotion, commemorated for her steadfast witness to Christ amidst suffering. Feast day: September 20.
