1923 Documented reliquary theca with relic of the Blessed Stephana de Quinzanis, patron of theologians

Oval glass-fronted silvered brass pendant reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus (of the bone) relic of the Blessed Stephana de Quinzanis.  The relic is affixed to a silver-threaded silk ground surrounded by gilt silver wire ornamentation and identified in Latin on a manuscript cedula label as B. Steph: Quin. (Blessed Stephana de Quinzanis, Virgin).  On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of Archbishop St. Guido Maria Conforti (†1931), Bishop of Parma, Italy (1907-1931), who himself was canonized as a Saint in 2011 by Pope John Paul II on account of his life of heroic virtue. The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued and sealed by the order of Monsignor Conforti in 1923.

Blessed Stephana de Quinzanis, TOSD (variant spellings include Stephanie, Stefana) (†1530) was an Italian sister of the Third Order of St. Dominic who was a mystic who received the stigmata at the age of 14 and lived in a nearly continuous fasting. Though she had no formal theological training, she could discuss mystical theology at the most profound level. She is therefore considered a patron saint for theologians. It is said that she could read the hearts and minds of the people around her, and had the gift of prophesy and healing. She was beatified by Pope Benedict XIV in 1740. Her Feast Day is commemorated on 2 January.
