Reliquary with a relics of St. John of Nepomuk, St. Clare of Assisi, St. Leonard of Port Maurice, St. Vincent de Paul & St. Charles Borromeo

Oval glass-fronted brass pendant reliquary theca housing relics of five Catholic Saints: Saint John of Nepomuk, Saint Clare of Assisi, Saint Leonard of Port Maurice, Saint Vincent de Paul, and Saint Charles Borromeo.  The relics of four saints are centered around the relic of Saint John of Nepomuk. They are affixed to a ground of red silk, surrounded by gilt paperolle and silver wire ornamentation, and identified in Latin on manuscript cedulae labels. On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of Fr. Francisco Maria de Vecchi, the Apostolic Protonotary and the General Vicar to Fr. Giuseppe Maria Saporiti, Archbishop of Genoa, Italy (1746-1767).

Saint John of Nepomuk (John Nepomucene, Jan Nepomucký; Johannes Nepomuk; Ioannes Nepomucenus) (†1393) is the saint of Bohemia who was drowned in the Vltava river at the behest of Wenceslaus, King of Bohemia. Later accounts state that he was the confessor of the queen of Bohemia and refused to divulge the secrets of the confessional. On the basis of this account, John of Nepomuk is considered the first martyr of the Seal of the Confessional, a patron against calumnies and, because of the manner of his death, a protector from floods and drowning. He was beatified in 1721, by Pope Innocent XIII and canonized in 1729 by Pope Benedict XIII. His Feast day is celebrated on 16 May.

Saint Clare of Assisi († 1253) is an Italian saint and one of the first followers of Saint Francis of Assisi. She founded the Order of Poor Ladies, a monastic religious order for women in the Franciscan tradition, and wrote their Rule of Life, the first set of monastic guidelines known to have been written by a woman. She is a patron of Eye disease, goldsmiths, laundry, television, embroiderers, gilders, good weather, needleworkers, Santa Clara Pueblo, Obando.

Saint Leonard of Port Maurice, O.F.M., (Italian: San Leonardo da Porto Maurizio) († 1751) was an Italian Franciscan preacher and ascetic writer called "the great missionary of the 18th century". Pope Pius VI pronounced his beatification on 19 June 1796, and Pope Pius IX his canonization on 29 June 1867. St. Leonard's Church in Boston, founded in 1873, is the first Roman Catholic Church in New England built by Italian immigrants. His Feast is celebrated on November 27.

Saint Vincent de Paul († 1660) was a French Roman Catholic priest who dedicated himself to serving the poor. He is a Holy Patron of charities; horses; hospitals; leprosy; lost articles; Madagascar; prisoners; Richmond, Virginia; spiritual help; Saint Vincent de Paul Societies; Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory; Vincentian Service Corps; and volunteers. The Society of St Vincent de Paul was founded in 1833 to sanctify its members through personal service to the poor. His feast day is commemorated on 27 September.

Saint Charles Borromeo (Italian: Caroli Borromeo, Latin: †1584) was a cardinal who was archbishop of Milan from 1564 to 1584. Among the great reformers of the troubled 16th century, Borromeo, with St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. Philip Neri, and others, led the movement to combat the inroads of the Protestant Reformation. He was a leading figure during the Counter-Reformation and was responsible for significant reforms in the Catholic Church, including the founding of seminaries for the education of priests. He is a holy patron of apple orchards; bishops; catechists; catechumens; cardinals; seminarians; spiritual directors; spiritual leaders; Lombardy, Italy; and Monterey California; and sought to assist in intestinal disorders; against ulcers; colic; and stomach diseases.
