1993 Documented theca with relic of Blessed Contardo Ferrini T.O.S.F., patron of University professors

Round yellow-metal glass-fronted reliquary theca housing first-class ex carne  (of the flesh) relic of the Blessed Contardo Ferrini T.O.S.F. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as B. Cont. Ferrini (Blessed Contardo Ferrini ).  On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Order of Friars Minor (OFM). The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued and sealed in 1993 by the Postulator General of the Order responsible for the Causes of Canonization.

Blessed Contardo Ferrini (†1902) was a noted Italian legal scholar and a fervent Roman Catholic, who lived a devout life of prayer and service to the poor. In 1909 Pope Pius X authorized Cardinal Andrea Carlo Ferrari, the Archbishop of Milan, to open a process to promote Ferrini's canonization. He was subsequently declared Venerable by Pope Pius XI and he was beatified by Pope Pius XII on 13 April 1947. His body is venerated in a chapel of Milan's Catholic University. Ferrini is the patron saint of universities, professors and Homeric scholarship. His Feastday is celebrated on 17 October (22 October (in the Archdiocese of Berlin).
