Reliquary frame with relics from the coffin of St. Benedict Joseph Labre, Patron of Bachelors

Rectangular glass-fronted reliquary housing very large and important second-class ex arca sepulcrali (of the burial coffin) pre-canonization relics of Saint Benedict Joseph Labre, T.O.S.F. The relics are contained inside of the reliquary box and identified in Latin on a manuscript cedula label as "ex arca sepulcrali  B. Benedictii Josephi Labre Conf." (from the burial coffin of the Blessed Benedict Joseph Labre, Confessor). The reliquary is secured by multiple seals of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of Monsignor Costantino Patrizi Naro (†1876), Dean of the College of Cardinals and the Vicar General of the Roman Curia.

Saint Benedict Joseph Labre, T.O.S.F., (French: Benoît-Joseph Labre) (†1783) was a French mendicant, Franciscan tertiary, and Catholic saint known as the "saint of the Forty Hours" (or Quarant' Ore) for his dedication to Eucharistic adoration. A cult grew up around him very soon after his death, and he was declared Blessed by Blessed Pius IX in 1860, and later canonized by Pope Leo XIII in 1881. Benedict is the patron saint of unmarried men (bachelors), rejects, mental illness, mentally ill people, insanity, beggars, hobos, the homeless. His feast day is observed on April 16.
