Saint Gaetano dei Conti di Thiene (†1547) was an Italian Catholic priest and religious reformer, who helped found the Congregation of Theatines. Saint Cajetan was beatified in 1629 and canonized in 1671. His feast day is celebrated on August 7. He is the patron saint of bankers; gamblers; unemployed people; workers; non-gamblers; document controllers; and job seekers.
Reliquary theca with relics of St. Gaetano dei Conti di Thiene, founder of the Congregation of Theatines
Oval glass-fronted metal theca housing a second class ex pluvilali (from the cape) relic of Saint Gaetano dei Conti di Thiene. A substantial relic is affixed to a red silk background surrounded by silver wire and identified in Latin on a manuscript cedula label as Pluv. S. Cajetani Ten. (from the cape of Saint Gaetano dei Conti di Thiene). On the back, the theca is secured by a seal of red Spanish wax with an imprint of a coat of arms of Ferdinando Minucci (†1856), Archbishop of Florence (1828-1856).
