Oval glass-fronted silvered brass theca housing the first-class bone relic of Saint Vincent Ferrer. The relic is affixed to a gilt paper starburst on a red silk background and identified on a manuscript cedula label as S. Vincente Fer.. On the back, the theca is secured by a seal of red Spanish wax with an imprint of a coat of arms of Fr. Giuseppe Mancini (†1855), the Archbishop of Siena (1824-1855).
Saint Vincent Ferrer, O.P., (†1419) was a Valencian Dominican friar, who gained acclaim as a missionary and a logician who was canonized by Pope Calixtus III in 1455. His feast day is celebrated on 5 April. He is a holy patron of builders, construction workers, plumbers, fishermen, and orphanages.
