Reliquary theca with relics of Saint Hyacinth, Patron of Poland and Lithuania

Oval  glass-fronted metal theca housing first-class relics of Saint Hyacinth.The relic is affixed to a red background surrounded by  twisted silver wire ornamentation and titled on a handwritten cedula label as S. Hyacinthi Conf. (Saint Hyacinth, Confessor).  On the back the theca is secured with a perfectly preserved red wax seal with a coat of arms of a Roman Catholic Bishop.

Saint Hyacinth, O.P., (Spanish: San Jacinto, Polish: Święty Jacek or Jacek Odrowąż) (†1257), called the "Apostle of the North," was a Doctor of Sacred Studies and a regular priest, who worked to reform women's monasteries in his native Poland. Saint Hyacinth was canonized in 1594 by Pope Clement VIII, and his memorial day is celebrated on 17 August. He is the patron saint of Lithuania, University of Santo Tomas-College of Tourism and Hospitality Management, invoked by those in danger of drowning; Basilica of St. Hyacinth, those in danger of drowning.
