Reliquary theca with relic of St. Vincent Pallotti, SAC, founder of the Pious Society of Missions
Round glass-fronted white-metal reliquary theca housing the first-class ex corpore (of the body) relic of Saint Vincent Pallotti. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as S. Vinc. Pallorri. (Saint Vincent Pallotti). On the back, under the protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing a partial imprint of a crest of the Catholic Apostolate (SAC), (later known as the Pious Society of Missions or the Pallottines).
Saint Vincent Pallotti, SAC (†1850) was an Italian Catholic cleric and the founder of the Society of the Catholic Apostolate (SAC), later known as the Pious Society of Missions (the Pallottines). The original name was restored in 1947. He is buried in the Church of San Salvatore in Onda. He is considered the forerunner of Catholic Action. He was canonized on 20 January 1963 by Pope John XXIII and his Feast Day is commemorated on 22 January.
