Round glass-fronted white-metal reliquary theca housing pre-canonization relic of Saint André Bessette. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as B. André (Blessed André [Bessette]). On the back, under the protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a crest of the Congregation of Holy Cross).

Saint André Bessette, C.S.C. (†1937), commonly known as Brother André (French: Frère André) and since his canonization as Saint André of Montreal, was a lay brother of the Congregation of Holy Cross and a significant figure of the Catholic Church among French Canadians. He is credited with thousands of reported healings associated with his pious devotion to Saint Joseph. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1982, and canonized by Pope Benedict XVI on 17 October 2010. He is the first Canadian living after Confederation to be canonized and his Feast Day is commemorated on January 6 (January 7 in Canada)
