2001 Documented reliquary theca with relics of St. Caterina Volpicelli, foundress of the Maids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Hexagon glass-fronted yellow-metal reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus  (of a bone) pre-canonization relic of Saint Caterina Volpicelli. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as Ex Ossibus B. Caterina Volpicelli (of the bone of the Blessed Caterina Volpicelli) On the back, under the protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Institute of the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued on 29 April 2001 (the very day of her beatification) by the Postulator General of the Order.

Saint Caterina Volpicelli (†1894) was an Italian Roman Catholic professed religious and the foundress of the Maids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. On 29 April 2001 she received beatification from Pope John Paul II and was canonized as a saint of the Roman Catholic Church on 26 April 2009 in a celebration at which Pope Benedict XVI officiated. Her liturgical commemoration is on January 22.
