1995 documented theca with relic of Blessed Juan de Prado OFM, Martyr

Back

Round yellow-metal glass-fronted reliquary theca housing first-class ex ossibus (of the bone) relic of Blessed Juan de Prado. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as B. Ioannis De Prado (Blessed Juan de Prado). On the back, under a protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Order of Friars Minor. The reliquary is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued by the Postulator General of the Order in 1995.

Blessed Juan de Prado, OFM (†1631) was a Spanish Roman Catholic priest and a professed member of the Order of Friars Minor who served as part of the missions in Muslim Morocco at the request of Pope Urban VIII and brought much solace to the small Christian population there before the ruler had him murdered. Pope Benedict XIII confirmed his beatification in mid-1728 after confirming that the priest had been murdered in hatred of his Christian faith.
