1995 Documented reliquary theca with relic of Blessed Grimoaldo of the Purification C.P.

Round glass-fronted yellow-metal reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus (of the bone) relic of Blessed Grimoaldo Saint Mary of the Purification. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground surrounded by silver wire ornamentation and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as B. Grimoaldi Santamaria (Blessed Grimoaldo Saint Mary [of the Purification]). On the back, under the protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Congregation of the Passion of Jesus Christ (commonly known as the Passionists). The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued on January 29, 1995 (the very day of her beatification) by the Postulator General of the Order responsible for the cause of beatification and canonization. 

Blessed Grimoaldo of the Purification (†1902) was an Italian Passionist clerical student known for his remarkable holiness and purity. Born to a poor family, he entered the Passionists at age 15, taking the name Grimoaldo of the Purification. He stood out for his deep prayer life, devotion to the Passion of Christ and the Virgin Mary, humility, and kindness. Despite his youth, he impressed his superiors with spiritual maturity. Stricken with acute meningitis, he died at just 19 after prophetically foretelling the day of his death. Pope St. John Paul II beatified him on January 29, 1995 and his feast day is commemorated on November 18.
