1992 Documented reliquary theca with relic of St. John of Capistrano, patron of military chaplains & jurists

Round glass-fronted yellow-metal reliquary theca housing the second-class ex habitu (of the habit) relic of Saint John of Capistrano. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as S. Joannis a Cap. C. (Saint John of Capistrano, Confessor). On the back, under the protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Order of Friars Minor (commonly known as the Franciscans), The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued in 1992 by the Postulator General of the Order responsible for the cause of beatification and canonization. 

Saint John of Capistrano (†1456), also known as Giovanni da Capestrano, was an Italian Franciscan friar, priest, preacher, and theologian. A dynamic reformer, he preached across Europe against heresy, promoted strict observance, and served as an inquisitor. At age 70, he led a multinational crusade army and played a key role in the Christian victory at the Siege of Belgrade (1456) against the Ottomans. He died shortly afterward from plague. Canonized in 1724, he is patron of military chaplains and jurists. His feast day is October 23.
