1991 Documented Theca with Relic of St. Vincenzo Romano, Patron of Orphans & Sailors

Round glass-fronted yellow-metal reliquary theca housing a first-class ex corpore (“from the body”) pre-canonization relic of Saint Vincenzo Romano. Displayed against crimson silk, the relic is identified in Latin on a manuscript cedula label: “B. Vincentii Romano” (Blessed Vincenzo Romano). On the back, under the protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of the coat of arms of the Order of the Brothers of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel (commonly known as the Carmelites). Accompanied by the matching authentics document issued in Rome on May 5, 1991, by Father Redemptus Maria Valabek, O.Carm., Postulator General.

Saint Vincenzo Romano (†1831) was an Italian diocesan priest and devoted parish pastor in Torre del Greco, near Naples. Ordained in 1775, he dedicated himself to preaching, catechesis, education, and the spiritual and material welfare of workers, fishermen, and the poor. Following the devastating eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 1794, he helped rebuild his parish church and restore the surrounding community. Beatified by Pope Paul VI in 1963, he was canonized by Pope Francis in 2018. His feast day is December 20.
