1991 Documented reliquary with relics of 3 Dominican Blessed: Bl. André Abellon, Bl. Cecilia Cesarini & Bl. Diana degli Andalò

Round glass-fronted yellow-metal reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus (of the bone) relics of three Dominican Blessed: Bl. André Abellon, Bl. Cecilia Cesarini, and Bl. Diana degli Andalò. The relics are affixed to a pink silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedulae labels. On the back, under the protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of The Order of Preachers, (commonly known as the Dominican Order), The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued in 1990 by the Postulator General of the Order responsible for the cause of beatification and canonization. 

Blessed André Abellon (Andrew Abellon), O.P. (†1450), was a French Dominican priest, preacher, reformer, and artist. He entered the Order of Preachers after hearing St. Vincent Ferrer preach. He taught theology, served as prior, and worked to restore regular observance with patience and example. A noted preacher and confessor in Provence, he also painted religious works, some of which survive. He cared for plague victims in Aix-en-Provence and died there on May 15, 1450. Pope Leo XIII confirmed his cultus and beatified him on August 19, 1902. His feast day is May 15; he is invoked against fevers and as a patron of artists.

Blessed Cecilia Cesarini O.P. (†1290) was an Italian Dominican nun and early companion of St. Dominic. Born in Rome to the noble Cesarini family, she entered the monastery of Santa Maria in Tempulo and, at about age 17, moved with her community to San Sisto under Dominic’s reform. Tradition holds she was the first to receive the Dominican habit from him and used her family’s influence to support the reform. She was sent to Bologna to help establish the Monastery of St. Agnes, where she served as the first prioress and was known for strict observance. In old age she dictated the only firsthand description of St. Dominic’s appearance and spirit. She died in Bologna and was buried with Blesseds Diana d’Andalò and Amata. Pope Leo XIII confirmed their cultus and beatified them on December 24, 1891. Her feast day is August 4.

Blessed Diana degli Andalò (Diana d’Andalò) O.P. (†1236) was an Italian Dominican nun and foundress. Born in Bologna to a powerful noble family, she supported the early Dominicans and made a vow of religious life in the hands of St. Dominic around 1219–1221. Despite strong family opposition, she persevered and, with the help of Dominic’s successor Blessed Jordan of Saxony, she founded the Monastery of St. Agnes in Bologna. She lived there as a nun and superior, corresponding extensively with Jordan. She died on June 10, 1236, and was buried with Blesseds Cecilia Cesarini and Amata. Pope Leo XIII beatified her on August 8, 1888. Her feast day is June 10.
