1990 Documented reliquary theca with relic of St. Maria Domenica Mazzarello, founder of the Salesian Sisters

Round glass-fronted yellow-metal reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus (of the bone) relic of Saint Maria Domenica Mazzarello. The relic is affixed to a red silk ground and identified in Latin on a typeset cedula label as S. Mar. D. Maz. V. (Saint Maria Domenica Mazzarello, Virgin). On the back, under the protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Order of the Brothers of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel, (commonly known as the Carmelites), The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued in 1990 by the Postulator General of the Order responsible for the cause of beatification and canonization. 

Saint Maria Domenica Mazzarello (†1881) was the Italian founder of the Salesian Sisters. She was beatified on November 20, 1938 and canonized on June 24, 1951. Her incorrupt body is venerated in the Basilica of Our Lady Help of Christians, in Turin, Italy. A church in southeast Rome bears her name, Santa Maria Domenica Mazzarello. Her feast is commemorated on May 13.
