1976 Documented theca with relics of St. Giustino (Justin) de Jacobis C.M.

Back

Round glass-fronted yellow-metal reliquary theca housing the first-class ex ossibus  (of the bone) relic of the St. Giustino de Jacobis. The relic is affixed to a ground of red silk and identified on a typeset cedula label as J. de Jacobis E. C.  (St. [Giustino] de Jacobis, Bishop & Confessor).  On the back, under the protective cap, the theca is secured with a seal of red Spanish wax bearing an imprint of a coat of arms of the Congregation of the Mission St. Vincent de Paul. The relic is accompanied by the original matching authentics document issued and signed in 1976 by the Postulator General responsible for the cause of beatification and canonization.

St. Giustino (Justin) de Jacobis (†1860) was an Italian Roman Catholic bishop and professed member of the Congregation of the Mission who became a Vicar Apostolic in Ethiopia and Eritrea and the Titular Bishop of Nilopolis. Pope Pius XII beatified him on 25 June 1939, while Pope Paul VI canonized him as a saint on 26 October 1975.
