Mid -18th century oval silvered brass theca housing relics of the True Cross of Jesus Christ. The relics are arranged in cruciform shape, affixed to a background of red silk and titled on paper cedula as Ligno DNJC. ([of the] wood [from the True Cross of] Our Lord Jesus Christ). The back of the thecais secured by a perfectly preserved seal of red Spanish wax with a coat of arms of Fr. Silvester Merani O.S.A. (+1764), Titular Bishop of Porphyreon (p. 1742 - 1764) and the Papal Sacristan of the Holy See.
